Injuries & Conditions

Injuries and conditions we treat

Our specialist sport and exercise medicine care covers the full range of musculoskeletal problems, from acute injuries to long-standing pain, in people of every age and activity level.

Most musculoskeletal problems can be improved with a clear diagnosis and an evidence-based plan. The list below is not exhaustive. If your problem involves muscles, bones, joints, tendons, or movement, you are in the right place. When you are not sure where your problem fits, call reception and they will help you book the right appointment.

Acute injuries

If you have just injured yourself and need a rapid review, call (07) 5415 0428. Mention it is an acute injury so reception can prioritise the appointment. For severe injury, suspected fracture with deformity, or if you cannot bear weight, please attend a hospital emergency department.

Concussion and head injury

Concussion is a brain injury and benefits from specialist sports medicine input, especially when symptoms persist beyond the expected window or when the patient plays a contact or collision sport.

Red flags after a head injury

Worsening headache, repeated vomiting, increasing confusion or drowsiness, weakness or numbness, seizure, or loss of consciousness lasting more than a brief moment all need urgent assessment. Call 000 or attend a hospital emergency department immediately rather than waiting for a clinic appointment.

Not sure where your problem fits?

If your problem does not match any of the categories above, that is fine. A specialist sport and exercise medicine consultation is itself the right step when the diagnosis is unclear, when several practitioners have disagreed, when imaging has not explained your symptoms, or when an injury simply will not settle.

Call (07) 5415 0428. Reception can help you book the appointment that fits your situation, or pass a query to the clinical team before your visit.
